Where are FUMSAN shotguns manufactured?

Every model is produced at our own plant in the Diyarbakır Organised Industrial Zone. FUMSAN has been manufacturing smooth-bore hunting shotguns since 1965; barrel machining, action assembly and final inspection all take place in the same factory.

Which gauges are FUMSAN shotguns available in?

Our models are produced in 12 gauge and 20 gauge. Magazine-fed gas-operated models offer a 76 mm Magnum chamber, several barrel lengths and mobile choke options. The full specification list for each model is on its product page.

Should I choose 12 gauge or 20 gauge?

12 gauge carries a heavier shot load and is preferred for longer ranges and larger game. 20 gauge is lighter with less recoil, which helps on long walks, for younger or newer shooters and for small game. The right choice depends on how you hunt and how long you carry the gun.

What is the difference between a gas-operated magazine-fed shotgun and a pump-action?

In a gas-operated semi-automatic the case is ejected and the next round chambered automatically after each shot; the rate of fire is higher and the gas system absorbs part of the recoil. On a pump-action the shooter does this by hand. Magazine-fed models feed from a detachable magazine, so loading and unloading are faster.

How do I obtain a shotgun licence in Türkiye?

Smooth-bore hunting shotguns fall under Turkish Law No. 2521. Applications for a smooth-bore firearm licence are made to the provincial or district police or gendarmerie command for your place of residence, and normally require a medical report, a criminal-record check and payment of the statutory fee. Because the required documents and fees change periodically, confirm the current list with the competent authority before applying.

How are warranty and spare parts handled?

Warranty work, spare part supply and technical support are handled through the authorised dealer network. Every shotgun we build is recorded by serial number, which makes parts and service traceable.

What is required to become a FUMSAN dealer?

We evaluate applications from businesses that hold a dealer licence for smooth-bore shotgun sales, a tax certificate and a certificate of activity, and that meet the display and secure-storage requirements of the legislation. Applications are reviewed against regional coverage and documentation.

How should a shotgun be maintained?

After every outing the barrel and chamber should be cleaned, the gas system cleared of residue and the metal surfaces protected with a light film of oil.
